Carbon fiber tube is an extremely light weight reinforcing fiber derived from the element carbon. Sometimes known as graphite fiber, when this extremely strong material is combined with a polymer resin, a superior composite product is produced. Pultruded carbon fiber tube strip and bar offer extremely high strength and stiffness, unidirectional carbon fiber running longitudinally. Pultruded strip and bar are ideal for scale aircraft, gliders, musical instrument construction or any project that requires strength, rigidity and lightness.
Application of Carbon Fiber Tube
Carbon fiber tubes can be used for many tubular applications. Some current common uses include:
Robotics and automation
photographic equipment
Drone components
Tool handle
Idler rollers
Telescopes
Aerospace applications
race car components etc
With their light weight and superior strength and stiffness, combined with a wide array of customizable options, from fabrication process to shape to length, diameter, and sometimes even color options, carbon fiber tubes are useful for numerous applications across many industries. The uses for carbon fiber tubes are really only limited by one’s imagination!
Carbon fiber tube is used for many applications due to it’s unique properties. The major advantages of carbon fiber tube over traditional materials like steel, aluminum, wood and plastics include:
High stiffness and strength
Lightweight
Corrosion resistance
X-ray transparency
Low CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion)
Chemical resistivity
Thermal and electrical conductivity
